Day three in Orlando and I have yet to find a decent beer bar anywhere. Yes I know this is tourist central but even some tourists must want something beyond a Bud or Blue Moon. And what about the locals? Don't you people need a good beer after dealing with us all day? Even the big local chain, Miller's Ale House, is lame. Seriously Orlando - get your act together!

I stumbled upon this blog post 'organically' through some unrelated search.
Next time you come to Orlando, venture outside of the tourist district for your craft brews. Redlight Redlight is the closest to the touristy areas-- it's just outside of downtown. 24 taps, around 100 bottles. No macros.

There are others, but they're farther east near the University of Central Florida campus. Stick with Redlight if you're coming from the Disney/Universal/I-Drive areas.
Redlight is ranked top 100 in America by Draft Magazine, #10 by ratebeer.com and something like #3 by Beer Advocate.
World of Beer has two locations, one in East Orlando and one in Dr. Phillips. they are both outside of the tourist district, but have 500 bottled beers and 40 taps each.

TAPS in Winter Park has another few hundred bottles and about 40 more taps. http://www.yelp.com/biz/taps-wine-and-beer-winter-park
We also have Shipyard Emporium in Winter Park, microbrews on premises and change every few weeks. The Brewmaster and Chef here both really care about what they do and make passionate beers/menu items: http://www.shipyardemporium.com/
House of Beer is probably the closest beer bar to the tourist district. 200 bottles, 48 taps: http://hobflorida.com/
And lastly, Oblivion Taproom is opening up outside of Downtown in August, with 40 more taps: https://www.facebook.com/obliviontaproom
Big River Grille and Brewing Works is in Downtown Disney and is supposedly pretty good: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/big-river-grille-and-brewing-works/
...but Redlight Redlight is still and will always be the best. Independently owned, and I've seen beer there that you can't find anywhere else for hundreds of miles, if even in the country. Did I mention they're also somehow the cheapest?
This is an interesting and so well maintained blog. Whole article is too good and well written.university of pennsylvania hospital
